In the early part of 2013, Brendan Sheppard approached David Clouter, an experienced radio producer, to see if he would like to Executive Produce “One Fine Time Lord”. This hour long radio drama would celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who and be a highly ambitious project that would require a dedicated cast and crew. David introduced Brendan to Kim Mai-Bates who was to become the show’s producer and eventually the drama was commissioned as a one-off Children In Need special. Kim brought together several highly talented people to produce the behind the scenes video below and as well as run the show, she had to prepare for the highly anticipated cast auditions….An advert was placed on Doctor Who Online and actors from all over the UK came to audition. After 2 long days of auditions, the cast was eventually chosen and in June 2013, recording commenced at Anglia Ruskin Studios in Cambridge. The radio drama received a lot of press coverage on the BBC and in newspapers. Then, on one cold November night in 2013 and after months of post production under the talented Jared Lucas it was eventually premiered in Cambridge. The following night was made available to DWO members resulting in over 300,000 downloads! Ultimately, the production was to raise a significant amount of money for Children In Need and everyone involved is to be thanked for donating their time an talents for free to the project.. This is the result of their hard work….
